Why is JEE Main Dress Code Implemented

JEE Main dress code is implemented to protect the integrity and security of the exam. In order to ensure that there is no malpractice on the exam day the exam authorities have imposed restrictions on dresses and accessories. The JEE main dress code also streamlines the security check at the various exam centres across India.

JEE Main Dress Code For Females

• Female candidates appearing for JEE Main 2025 should not wear any dupatta, scarf or stole.
• Women should wear very comfortable clothes and it should be simple.
• Do not wear outfits that have multiple layers or designs.
• Make sure there is no metal items in your clothing.
• You cannot wear any earrings, jhumkas or any other jewelry or ornaments.
• Accessories such as goggles, bracelets, rings, etc. should not be worn during the JEE Main exam 2025.

JEE Main Dresscode for Male

• Do not wear any cap, hat, muffler or any other hair accessories during the JEE exam.
• Do not wear any outfit having metallic items as this will be removed during the frisking process.
• Any type of accessories such as studs, bracelets, rings, goggles, etc should not be worn. 
• For footwear do not wear any shoes that have a thick sole.
• Wear light weight and comfortable clothes and avoid wearing layered clothes on the JEE exam day.

JEE Main Guidelines for Students Who Are Diabetic

• Considering the medical condition of the diabetic students NTA has permitted certain things which are applicable to them only.
• They are allowed to carry eatables that include sugar tablets, fruits such as banana, orange, apple, water bottles that are transparent.
• They cannot carry any packaged food such as packed juices, biscuits, candies, chocolates, etc.

Things Not to Wear for JEE Main 2025

• Do not wear pants that have deep pockets, zippers, multiple pockets and other embellishments. 
• Refrain from wearing loud, flashy colors or clothes that have inappropriate quotes, graphics, and logos, symbols, etc.
• Students must avoid outfits with big buttons, brooches, and badges.
• Fashionable shoes,  heels,  sneakers, socks, stockings, or heavily designed footwear should be avoided for the JEE Main exam.
• Do not overdo your hair and keep a simple hairstyle.
• On the exam day not wear clothes that have multiple layers. 
• Make sure that on the exam day you do not carry any metal or metallic accessories or paraphernalia.

Documents to Carry on JEE Main Exam Day

• JEE Main admit card that should be downloaded from the official website.
• Passport size photo that should be similar to the photo that was used in the application form of JEE Main.
• IDs such as PAN Card / Driving Licence / Voter ID / Passport / Aadhar Card (with photo) / Aadhar Enrolment No. / Ration Card.
