GATE Marking Scheme 2025
Ten 15-mark questions covering the entire General Aptitude part (Language and Analytical Skills) will be included out of a total score of 100.
- Five questions worth two marks each and five questions worth one mark each make up general aptitude.
- About 13% of the 100 possible points will be awarded for engineering mathematics on papers with the following codes: AE, AG, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, ES, IN, ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF, and XE.
- The subject of the paper receives the remaining 72% of the total marks.
- General aptitude will account for 15% of the 100 marks for the paper codes AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, ST, XH, and XL, while the subject of the paper will account for the remaining 85% of the total question paper.

The NAT and MSQ questions do not carry any negative grading.

Exam Pattern of GATE 2025
The paper of the GATE 2025 exam consists of 2 sections mainly. The first section is of the general aptitude that is compulsory for all the candidates to give, and the other one is what the candidates has chosen at the time of the registration of the exam.
