CAP Calls Are Out – Big Changes in Sectional and Overall Percentile
CAP Cutoff 2025 for IIM has been announced officially. This year there is a major changes in the cutoff percentile of IIM CAP. The overall and the sectional cutoff has been released officially. The overall percentile of IIM CAP for General Category is 95, and for EWS category its 81, more discuss further in this article.

Common Admission Process (CAP): What is it?
The IIM Common Admission Process (CAP) was implemented to expedite admissions for new and second-generation IIMs founded after 2010. Through a centralised mechanism, this procedure expedites the selection process for participating IIMs, which is advantageous to both institutions and candidates.
Candidates who have been shortlisted by participating IIMs based on their CAT scores go through a unified screening process called the IIM unified Admission Process (CAP). Selected candidates go through a centralised Personal Interview (PI) process rather than attending individual rounds of interviews for each IIM. Each participating IIM makes a final admission offer to the candidates based on their performance in the CAP round, CAT score, academic profile, diversity, job experience, and other selection criteria.

The Common Admission Process (CAP) is the last round of selection for second and third generation IIM MBA admission in 2025. Since IIM Raipur and IIM Sambalpur have chosen to withdraw from the CAP process, just eight IIMs—IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Nagpur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Udaipur—are taking part in IIM CAP 2025. The IIM CAP 2025 Portal is operational as of January 14, 2025. The PI/WAT cut-off percentile has been revealed. The cutoff for IIM CAP 2025 is 95 percentile. See the details below. CAP calls are out – How to Apply for IIM CAP 2025?
1. Choosing to enrol in specialised MBA programs and an MBA
MBA program selection: On the CAP application form, candidates must choose from the eight IIMs’ MBA programs. As a result, the relevant IIMs will take their nomination into consideration. The corresponding IIMs will not accept a candidate’s application if they do not choose the MBA of that IIM on the CAP application form.
Choosing or selecting specialised MBA programs: In addition to the core MBA programs, some IIMs provide specialised MBA programs. In the CAP application form, candidates who are interested in any of these programs must choose the appropriate programs. The candidates are requested to check the eligibility criteria and other required details applicable to the program on their website.
The choices selected during the CAT 2024 application process will be superseded by the MBA and specialised MBA programs listed above.
Each of the eight IIMs has its own admissions policy, merit list, and subsequent admission offers. The individual IIMs will communicate the provisional admission offer based on the candidate’s merit rank and other admission requirements.
2. Choosing a desired city for offline PI/WAT and scheduling a time slot:
In CAP calls are out, Candidates must select four distinct cities (in order of preference) in the CAP application in order to participate in the PI/WAT procedure.
Date-slot booking: The date-slot portal will open in accordance with the timeline following the closure of the CAP application. Candidates will be able to choose the date and time slot for the city they have been assigned in the following ways: If there are open seats for the first city they have chosen, they will be able to choose a date slot for that city only; if there are no open seats for the first city, they will be able to choose a date slot for the second city, and so on; if there are no open seats for the third or fourth preferred city, then all of those cities will be accessible on the portal where there are open seats.
3. Document to be uploaded at CAP calls are out
Please be aware that all documents must be uploaded (maximum size of 1.5 MB, file formats:.jpg,.jpeg,.png,.pdf). Candidates should create a single file with all of the documents they need to upload in a given field and upload it to the portal.
Guidelines for entering data and uploading documents in the CAP application:
- Upload the identical photo and signature that were included on the CAT application form.
- Photo Identity Card Document (only government-issued identification, like a passport, driver’s license, voter ID, or Aadhar)
- CAT 2024 scorecard (upload the CAT website’s PDF file that you downloaded)
- 10th and 12th grades and diplomas (upload the certificate and mark sheet)
- Work Experience for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees (If Any)
- If appropriate, the Category/PwD Certificate

IIM CAP 2025: Important Points at CAP calls are out
The IIM CAP procedure 2025’s salient features are as follows:
- As IIM CAP Colleges 2025, eight IIMs are taking part: IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Nagpur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Udaipur.
- Exit CAP: IIM Raipur and IIM Sambalpur have made the decision to withdraw from the CAP procedure.
- IIM Bodhgaya CAP 2025 Coordinator: The CAP 2025 procedure is being coordinated by IIM Bodhgaya (IIM BG). IIM Kashipur served as the coordinator for CAP 2024 last year.
