GATE Exam Analysis 2025 – Shift 1

Shift 1 of the GATE 2025 exam is already over. The timing for this exam was 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM on 1st February 2025. Many of the students has given the following analysis of the forenoon session exam.

  • 70% of computer science (CS) exams was moderate to extremely difficult, with an emphasis on NAT problems, algorithms, and data structures, and some binary problems too.
  • For AG or Agricultural Engineering, similar patterns was there, with 35% of the questions being challenging and 65% being somewhat difficult, covering subjects like Farm Machinery and irrigation and drainage engineering, and Engineering mathematics, etc.
  • Questions in Metallurgical engineering (MT) was about 60% moderate and 40% difficult, the two difficult sections was found in the sections on Thermodynamics and Rate Processes and Physical Metallurgy or Manufacturing Processes.
  • The NM or Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering paper, there was approximately 30% challenging questions and 70% moderate ones, particularly in the areas of Fluid Mechanics and Marine Hydrodynamics and Marine Engineering.
  • In the forenoon session, there was 35% intermediate issues and 65% difficult questions in mathematics (MA), primarily from linear algebra and calculus.
  • With an emphasis on Textile Testing and Chemical Processing, Textile Engineering and Fibre Science (TF) was about 60% challenging.
  • In the section of Instrumentation Engineering (IN), it was equally distributed to moderate and difficulty level. Topics covered here was Signals and Systems, Control Systems, Digital Electronics and Communication and Optical Instrumentation.

How to Download the Hall Ticket for GATE 2025

On January 7, 2025, the GATE exam hall pass was made available. The admission card is available to registered applicants via the GOAPS portal. Candidates who has not downloaded their admit card should follow the following step to download the admit card, as without this the candidates would not be able to sit for the examination.

The following is the detailed procedure for downloading the GATE admission card:

  • Candidates should visit to gate2025.iitr.ac.in, the official GATE website, in order to download the GATE Admit Card.
  • Click the link for the GATE admission card after visiting the GATE official website.
  • Candidates should enter their GATE enrolment ID and password, as required.
  • Download the hall pass or admit card and review all the information.

CS1, CS2, AG, MA, NM, TF, and IN GATE 2025 Instructions for Exam Day – GATE Exam Analysis 2025

Strict rules are enforced by IIT Roorkee to guarantee a seamless exam process. Student has to follow all these rules and regulations for the GATE Exam 2025. The IIT Roorkee exam day instructions, which are available online, should be reviewed by candidates taking the GATE 2025 February 1 exam.

  • At least ninety minutes prior to the exam date, candidates must arrive at the testing location.
  • Candidates must have a valid form of identification with a passport-sized photo, such as a passport, voter ID, Aadhaar card, or PAN card.
  • Mobile phones, pagers, calculators, and other electronic devices are not allowed at the testing location.
  • Inside the exam room, there will be a scribble pad available for rough work. Before utilising the doodle pad, candidates must write their name and registration number on it.
  • Candidates are permitted to bring a pencil and pen. It is permitted to bring a clear water bottle into the exam room.
  • Examinees are not permitted to leave the exam room until it is over.
  • PwD candidates are required to bring any assistive technology they may have and present it for inspection at the testing location.
  • PwD candidates may depart the hall after 12:30 pm for the morning session and after 5:30 pm for the afternoon session if they were given an hour of compensatory time during the GATE exam.
  • Only when the invigilator is present can candidates click the “Submit” button after finishing the exam. The exam will stop for them when they click the submit button, and their responses will be frozen.
